Hi, my name is Mekaila Stefano.
I am a Graphic Designer and Illustrator from southeastern Connecticut based in New York City. I hold a BA in Digital Art & Design and am currently studying for a degree in Packaging, Identities and Systems Design at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. I am the Art Director for Pratt School of Design’s digital newsletter, Offcuts. I also do freelance design work for individuals, small businesses, and creative agencies.
My work as a freelancer is engaging and empowering, giving me the opportunity to work alongside a host of unique clients - most notably Disneyland Resort, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the Salvation Army.
Before relocating to New York City, I was a full-time graphic designer at Mission Control Inc., which allowed me to work on nationwide political campaigns during a record-breaking election year. Along with my team, I created data-driven advertising materials that engaged with Americans to get candidates elected and legislation passed. Some notable clients include Jaime Harrison (SC), Mark Kelly (AZ), Jon Ossoff (GA), Planned Parenthood, and the Sierra Club.
I am known for my ability to work efficiently in a deadline-driven environment and for providing creative, effective design solutions. My expertise lies in creating logos, websites, print illustrations, and all forms of marketing design collateral. I also have experience creating animated GIFs, motion graphics, 3D modeling, prototyping, and programming with CSS, C++, and HTML.
